Let’s be honest; we all know what happens when November 1st comes around. We dust off the Christmas decor and blast Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ for the rest of the year. The holiday cheer is going nowhere this year, especially with this list of our favorite holiday movies to watch in your L+O North Hollywood apartments for rent.

L+O’s Top 10 Holiday Movies to Watch This Year

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Small-hearted Grinch ranks up there when it comes to getting the holiday blues. In the town of Whoville, all the Who’s are getting ready to celebrate Christmas, but there was one Who that was curious about the true meaning of Christmas. Cindy Lou Who to be exact. How do the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who hit it off? You’re going to have to watch this holiday classic to find out!

Home Alone

A timeless classic! For those living in North Hollywood who haven’t seen this holiday flick, Home Alone follows the adventure of an 8-year-old who takes on two burglars from trying to steal from his house. What family accidentally leaves their child behind while they go on a trip to Paris for the holidays? You won’t know until you watch Home Alone.

Elf

Buddy is everyone’s favorite oversized elf who never quite fits in at the North Pole, only because he’s human. Buddy heads to New York City to find his biological father and tries to fit into the regular world. It doesn’t go so well, but when Santa Claus is in jeopardy, Buddy leads the charge to help him save Christmas.

Bad Santa

The Christmas season just got a lot less joyous with this dark comedy. Bad Santa isn’t for everyone, but grinches will find it uproariously funny.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Although many people claim that The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween movie, there’s no reason not to watch it at Christmas. In fact, it makes for the perfect transition film for all of you at our North Hollywood apartments for rent in Los Angeles who aren’t ready to let go of Halloween. After all, even Pumpkin King Jack knew that comfort and joy could be found in Christmastown and share the happiness Sandy Claws brings to little boys and ghouls.

Die Hard

Die Hard is a must-watch for those of you who prefer their Christmas turkey with a bit of action on the side. Die-hard is like a stocking: the packaging is not the same, and sometimes it hangs far from the tree, but that makes it no less part of the tradition!

Jack Frost

Jack Frost lived a somewhat bitter life and ended up dying in a car accident on Christmas Day. A year later, Jack’s son plays a song on his old harmonica, and he comes back to life, but this time as a snowman!

Love Actually

Five words: To me, you are perfect. Why not hate-watch Love Actually a thousand more times? The moment we all adore when Mark comes to the door with handwritten notecards confessing his love for Juliet makes us melt EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This movie captures the complex, inspiring, and stressful time of the year that is the holidays.

Jingle All The Way

A workaholic dad wants to make things up to his son and wife by promising to get his son the hottest toy of the season, even though it’s Christmas Eve, and the toy is nearly sold out. As Langston hunts down the gift, he runs into another father on the same quest. With the clock ticking, Langston’s moral code is tested as he begins to understand the real meaning of Christmas.

The Santa Claus

1994 was a rather exciting year for most children. The fear was that Santa would fall off their roof and to his death. What a way to make a cheerful holiday into a nightmare, huh? When Scott Calvin causes Santa to die on his property, he has to assume the role of the next Santa Claus. This movie is one for the books and is our last recommended holiday movie for this season!
