If there was ever a time to prioritize your well-being, it is now. All of us at L and O apartments in North Hollywood have our preferred methods of staying healthy at home and here are our top six.
Staying Healthy at Home
Meditate
Meditation is not for everyone. However, meditation allows you to focus on your breath and think of nothing else but that. Focussing on breathing and being in the moment can be incredibly healing. So light some candles, burn some sage, diffuse some oils and meditate.
Start a Gratitude Journal
Remaining grateful is the way to go! Get yourself a daily/weekly journal and every night, write down three things you are grateful for. It will give you a lot of perspective and you will never take anything for granted ever again.

Foster a Dog
Fun fact, during midterms and finals, universities are known to bring pets on campus for students to pet to calm their nerves. If there was ever a time to pet a puppy to relieve stress, it’s now. Here are some places in the LA area for you to foster a pet: Wags and Walks, Wagging Dog, and labestfriends.org.
Watch Puppy and Cat Videos
If for some reason you can’t foster a pet, hop on Instagram and start scrolling through videos of babies cuddling with puppies! Some of our favorite pet accounts on Instagram are @doggosbeingdoggos, @doggosdoingthings, and @petcanines.

Dance!
To quote the great Lady Gaga, “just dance, gonna be okay, da da doo-doo-mmm, just dance, spin that record, babe, da da doo-doo-mmm.” Simple, profound, and true. With modern technology by our side, you can join in on a number of dance workouts. Starting with Ryan Heffington who hosts Sweatfest, a free IG live dance party. Dance around your room with 6,000 other people around the world every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 AM, Wednesday at 4 PM, and Saturday and Sunday at 12 PM. You can find these classes on Instagram @ryan.heffington. Groov3 is a very easy to do Zumba like hip-hop class. Easily take one of their classes by heading to their Instagram @groov3dance. Last up is another Groove class from well-known choreographer Kennis Marquis. A spot in his weekend classes is $15. Head to his Instagram @kennismarquisofficial for details.
Dance, pet a puppy, meditate, repeat! We hope these ideas will help you stay happy and calm during these tough times.
