Hiking trails in North Hollywood
The NoHo Arts District Trail
Starting with our favorite trails in North Hollywood. First up, the NoHo Arts District Trail. The NoHo Arts District Trail doesn’t have any peaks and valleys throughout it. It is 0.9 miles of flat ground that travels in a circle. There is tons of grass area to do some strengthening and stretching during, before, or after your walk.
Hastain Trail
North Hollywood is also home to Hastain Trail. If you are looking for a trail with a view, this is the place. Hastain Trail is a 2.3-mile loop that features a lake. Dogs are welcome but must stay on a leash. The Hastain Trail is a bit more of a challenge but not too difficult. At this time, Hastain Trail is temporarily closed. You can stay up to date on it’s reopening here.
Hiking trails near North Hollywood
Franklin Canyon Park
Just 12 minutes away from your L and O apartments in North Hollywood is Franklin Canyon Park. It is located near Benedict Canyon, spans over 605 acres, with over five miles of trails. Our favorite trail is the Discovery Trail, with a beautiful river for your view.
Wilacre Park/Fryman Canyon Park
Parallel to Fryman is Wilacre Park. All you need to do is drive up Laurel Canyon from your apartments in North Hollywood. The parking lot for Wilacre and Fryman is the same with a $3 fee. Within Wilacre Park, you’ll find great views of the San Fernando Valley. It can also take you through three different parks: Wilacre, Fryman Canyon, and Coldwater Canyon. The trail we recommend for Wilacre, in particular, is the Betty B. Dearing Trail.
Runyon Canyon
Runyon may just be LA’s most popular trail. At the moment, it is still closed. However, it is worth mentioning. It has a great dog park at the bottom and multiple areas to do yoga. Best of all, it includes several different trails varying in difficulty. You can have a simple hike with the pup and a hardcore uphill run. Do know that it is always crowded. If you’re looking for solitude, any of the above trails will do.
