A new year means a lot of things. For all of us living in the NoHo arts district at L and O apartments, we will want to explore all the new exhibits and art galleries in Los Angeles. That ranges from permanent collections to traveling exhibits.
Art Galleries in Los Angeles: Up-coming Exhibits
Nicolas Party
Your apartments in Los Angeles are surrounded by a handful of galleries and museums. Some of the newer ones include Nicolas Party at Hauser & Wirth. Hauser & Wirth is located in downtown LA so you can easily take the Metro over. It is an incredible collection from the Swedish artist featuring bold and beautiful landscapes and still lifes.
Yoshitomo Nara
LACMA is up next with a new exhibit from the very popular Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara. From April 5th through August 2nd, this exhibit will feature 30 years worth of his work. That includes drawings, paintings, sculptures, and ceramics.
Made in L.A.
Made in L.A. will be coming back this summer! Every year the Hammer Museum exhibits the works from a selected group of LA artists. It will be the fifth edition this summer from June 7th through August 30th.
Art Galleries in Los Angeles: Permanent Collections
Fred Weisman Art Foundation
There is a chance that some of us may miss out on these temporary exhibits. No need to worry because LA is filled with tons of permanent collections. That includes one of our favorite hidden gems, the Fred Weisman Art Foundation. What was once a mansion from renowned art collector Frederick Weisman is now a museum and foundation open to the public.
That is not all! Don’t forget about the Broad and MOCA with some incredible contemporary art collections. What about all the boutique art galleries in DTLA? Some of our favorites include OTI and Art Share LA. Best of all, these boutique galleries are just a Metro ride away from your L and O apartments in North Hollywood.
